Fabric for Fashion: The Swatch Book

This easily navigable resource provides 100 swatches of most recognized and widely used varieties of fabric, including cottons, silks, wools, and linens, to encourage consideration of not just the aesthetic appeal of various fabrics but also their structure, feel, and weight. Secured in an attractive ring-bound folder, with descriptions alongside them, the fabrics are in their raw state, before bleaching, dying, or finishing, so that their properties can be observed without thedistraction of color or pattern.

Mom got me some of these, and I fussed around in my stash for the rest. there are a few I could replace, but I'm going for the scrappy look, as well as the not-quite-perfect look. They are all florals, except 3 have extras.

At the quilt show, many of the quilts were gorgeous, but *too* co-ordinated.

I showed the pile to Ron and told him I was making a queen-sized quilt for our bed. "I love you too," he replied.

It'll be the biggest one I've ever done.
